Database Errors
by Repsher, Brian 15 Oct '26

15 Oct '26

I noticed some strange behavior with alerts after doing a recent update. I have the Professional subscription. I looked in the update-errors.log and saw many errors. Have not had any issues in many years so was surprised I mucked up the upgrade. Looking for some direction on solving these issues. I'm comfortable using mysql and can make changes. I attached the log. Nothing concerning in the other Brian Repsher Sr. Staff QA Engineer [cid:285d79db-05a0-4f56-8e19-72a0637d01d5] 2400 Ogden Ave Ste 180 Lisle IL 60503 Office: 847-561-8452

LDAP Auth and API Token
by Graf Vincent 15 Oct '26

15 Oct '26

Hello, I face off with a strange behavior and maybe some of you can help me. I run the last stable version of Observium (26.10.15295) on a Debian 12 server with active subscription. All my users are authenticated by LDAP and everything works perfectly. For some reason, I would like to create API token to avoid using username/password for API calls but the API Token page doesn't appear in the GUI ?! Instead of the page, Observium seems to run indefinitely without any error message and just the status bar at the bottom of the browser that say "waiting for observium.xxx.xx ...". Same problem occurs when I click on the menu "Users & Roles" -> "Edit user" Stranger, in my "Profile" page, I can see under Access key : API Tokens : API tokens are not available on this installation. API is well activated in the config.php and I can use it with username/password. The LDAP user that I use for creating token is full admin (level = 10) Any help would be greatly appreciated Kind regards Vincent

EVPN / table support for vlans/vxlan
by Bryan Fields 13 Oct '26

13 Oct '26

I'm running observium against a number of Juniper QFX5130's here. We have EVPN configured and vlans on the box which map to VXLAN in the evpn. We see no VLANs or EVPN data in observium. Is there any support for this, as with everything moving EVPN, we just have no visibility into the routing tables / VRFs on the network. Thanks, -- Bryan Fields 727-409-1194 - Voice http://bryanfields.net

upgrade professionnal edition
by Raphael Pierazzi 08 Oct '26

08 Oct '26

Hello, I have the Professional Edition. Following the latest update, I see version 26.10.15298 on the server, while the Observium page shows 20.10.15295 (stable). Why is there a difference? I don't understand. Thanks again. Best Regards Raphael

ISIS and multiple routing instance support in Junos
by Bryan Fields 07 Oct '26

07 Oct '26

I've added some Juniper QFX5130's to observium 26.9.15239 (rolling) (29th September 2026). For our IGP we're running ISIS, and I can't see any adjacencies or info on these, but the BFD sessions on these interfaces do show up. Is there anything I need to enable to make this show up? Is there any support for multiple routing instances for BGP or tracking EVPN family? We have several peers in different instances which don't show up. Thanks, -- Bryan Fields 727-409-1194 - Voice http://bryanfields.net

ERROR! snmpbulkwalk exit by timeout.
by Shawn L 07 Oct '26

07 Oct '26

Just upgraded Observium to 26.10.15295 (stable) and started getting this error on all of on a bunch of our Cisco devices ERROR! snmpbulkwalk exit by timeout. If the device responds to other SNMP requests, try to decrease SNMP Max Repetitions on the device properties page or set to 0 to not use bulk snmp commands. We've been running Observium for at least 5 years now and never seen this -- yes, I know I can follow the directions to fix it. Just wondering if something changed recently / between versions, etc. Thanks

changing interface name error in log when not changed
by Bryan Fields 07 Oct '26

07 Oct '26

I've started to have a new repeating error in observium every run stating an interface name has changed. I've confirmed it's not changed. 2026-10-05 17:45:26 et-0/0/47 Interface changed (attrib): [circuit] 19151|01160001|01|000028EB|ET-0/0/47|QFX27|TAMSFLDE|0102.PP40.PT -> 19151|01160001|01|000028EB|ET-0/0/47|QFX27|TAMSFLDE|0102.PP40.PT009:10 2026-10-05 17:40:24 et-0/0/47 Interface changed (attrib): [circuit] 19151|01160001|01|000028EB|ET-0/0/47|QFX27|TAMSFLDE|0102.PP40.PT -> 19151|01160001|01|000028EB|ET-0/0/47|QFX27|TAMSFLDE|0102.PP40.PT009:10 2026-10-05 17:35:27 et-0/0/47 Interface changed (attrib): [circuit] 19151|01160001|01|000028EB|ET-0/0/47|QFX27|TAMSFLDE|0102.PP40.PT -> 19151|01160001|01|000028EB|ET-0/0/47|QFX27|TAMSFLDE|0102.PP40.PT009:10 Looking at the interface I see the following, and it matches the description et-0/0/47 CUST: 365DATACENTERS (AS19151) {19151|01160001|01|000028EB|ET-0/0/47|QFX27|TAMSFLDE|0102.PP40.PT009:10} [IX-BASE] This matches the config on the port: description "CUST: 365DATACENTERS (AS19151) {19151|01160001|01|000028EB|ET-0/0/47|QFX27|TAMSFLDE|0102.PP40.PT009:10} [IX-BASE]"; And what SNMP comes back with: IF-MIB::ifAlias.600 = STRING: CUST: 365DATACENTERS (AS19151) {19151|01160001|01|000028EB|ET-0/0/47|QFX27|TAMSFLDE|0102.PP40.PT009:10} [IX-BASE] I'm on 26.9.15239 (rolling) (29th September 2026). Any idea? Can I ignore this? -- Bryan Fields 727-409-1194 - Voice http://bryanfields.net

Nonprofit Professional Edition Licensing
by Scott Lopez 06 Oct '26

06 Oct '26

Hello, We are a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and are evaluating Observium for network monitoring. Your website indicates that Observium Professional Edition is available free of charge to registered charities. I previously reached out directly but did not receive a response, so I’m trying the mailing list in hopes someone can point me in the right direction. Could someone please advise on the current process for requesting or obtaining a nonprofit Professional Edition subscription? I can provide documentation of our nonprofit status and any organizational information required. Thank you, Scott Lopez Food for the Hungry

In reference to the Carto key problem, do you have any idea when this fix will get pushed to stable? I am running Observium 26.7.15008 (stable)<https://www.observium.org/> right now and I am not seeing it. Thanks for your efforts! Tony
